Election Day

Well I just voted. More out of habit than anything else. In my district in Connecticut, most races are pretty much a forgone conclusion. Democrats all the way. I'll never understand it. The Democrats swear they are the party of the down trodden, yet one of the richest states in the union is always Democrat. California and New York follow suit. Doesn't make sense.

The best thing about this contentious election is the awarness of the power of each person's vote. So many more people are now at least aware there is and election and interested in voting, too. The hard part will be keeping this interest alive. Hopefully, though it will start a person thinking that they could help in some way. Get them to volunteer for a candidate or join their party's town committee. Perhaps even leading that person to decide to run for office themselves. ah ... optimistic idealism ... so sweet.
